Itell’s
instant messenger is a web-based messaging application
which allows persons on different computers over the
internet to communicate with each other.

Features : |

1. General chatting (Many to many chatting) |
Chat Application allows user to chat with
multiple user at the same time.
User can send messages to all the other users. The messages
sent by the user will be displayed on the screen in general
chat window of every user. |
|
2. Private chatting (one-to-one chatting) |
| List of all the other users is displayed
on the users screen. If user wants to chat privately with
one or more other users He can open private chat widow
to communicate. User can chat privately with as many users
as he wants but the private chatting window will be unique
for each user he chat with. Each private chatting window
will work entirely isolated and receive and send messages
simultaneously and independently. |

3. Typing notification: |
| User is informed that the other person he/she
is chatting with is currently typing or not, by showing
a message on the status bar. |
|
4. Sending Emotions : |
| Both in General chat and private chatting
user can send small images indicating emotions. User can
send as many images as he wants with every message. A
separate image panel is opened where user selects the
emotions, which are automatically attached to the messages
he sends. |
|
5. User Status : |
| User is allowed to set his presence (invisible,
visible, idle, busy or custom) as he wants. |
|
6. Set font properties : |
| User can set the font size, font color
for every message that he sends. |

Environment : |
| Linux Server / windows NT/2000
Server, Apache web server and tomcat is backend for JSP
storage. |
